Producer / Creative Director
Masibulele brings the artistic and logistical sides of filmmaking together. An AFDA graduate with a foundation in producing and directing, he helps lead the production arm of BOS with an eye for art direction, branded content, and clean execution.
Writer / Director
Sizwe is an AFDA-trained filmmaker, writer, director, and actor with a performance-led approach to story. His work moves through tension, humor, and emotional consequence, shaping films that reveal theme through character rather than explanation.
CEO / Co-founder
Phenyo brings an engineering background into the studio's strategy. He frames BOS as a practical response to industry gaps: building opportunities in film, television, and media while guiding the company's long-term creative and commercial direction.
About the studio
Black Orbit Studios is a South African film and video production company founded in 2025 by Phenyo Dantjie, Sizwe Kubeka, and Masibulele Mtonjeni.
Our work starts with a simple challenge: create cinematic opportunities for young South Africans and let the frame carry that ambition to audiences at home and abroad.
The orbit
BOS works across short films, branded content, and commercial projects, carrying ideas from concept through production and post. The studio language is visual, emotional, and grounded in stories that reveal pressure through character.
